MAC x Patrickstarrr Floral Realness Collection Review

Hello everyone!

Today I’ll be reviewing the Spring MAC Cosmetics x Patrickstarrr Floral Realness Collection! I decided to purchase the Me So Chic kit because I work in a pretty traditional office setting so I like to keep things on the more neutral side. The Me So Chic kit is perfect for adding a pop of color while still having the option to create neutral looks. The kit retails for $49.50 + tax and includes $97 worth of product.

On the MAC website, the collection is described as:

PATRICKSTARRR is back to make your beauty dreams blossom with his new floral inspired M·A·C full face kits. This collection is all you need for fresh-picked, vibrant springtime looks.

The set comes with an eye shadow quad, a cheek duo, a lipstick, and a lipglass. I love how they were able to pair these things together at a great price without sacrificing quality! In the Me So Chic kit, the lipstick is called Sweet Mamastarrr and the lipglass is called Mamastarrr Kiss. The eye shadow names, starting from the top left, are Daddystarrr, Yesss, Queen Patrick, and Bon Nuit. Last but not least, the cheek duo is called I’m Not Blushing. The website describes the shades as:

  • Lipstick in Sweet Mamastarrr: Midtone neutral pink (Amplified)
  • Lipglass in Mamastarrr Kiss: Sheer nude with pearl
  • Eye Shadow x 4 / Stay with Me:
    1. Daddystarrr: Muted baby pink with pearl (Matte)
    2. Yesss: Midtone dusty violet (Veluxe Pearl)
    3. Queen Patrick: Bright purple (Frost)
    4. Bon Nuit : Black purple (Matte)
  • Powder Blush Duo / I’m Not Blushing: Pure peach (Satin) & Capri bronze (Matte)

Starting with the eye shadow quad, I think the quality is amazing and the shadows are extremely pigmented but still very blendable. I’ve heard that sometimes purple shades can be difficult to formulate but this palette of all purple shades is amazing! While I do love the combination of colors in this quad, the only criticism I have is that I had to resort to another palette to get a brow bone shade and inner corner highlight. This isn’t that big of a deal however since I usually use whatever highlight I’m using on my face for the day on those areas. Additionally, the shadow pigmentation (when paired with my fave eye shadow primer) lasted all day without fading or creasing.

I don’t have very many cheek products from Mac so I was excited to try these two shades. These powders blend effortlessly and the blush shade is perfect for my light complexion. It’s not too pink, which is something I prefer. The bronzer shade adds great color without making me look orange or muddy. I like how it has a very slight pinkish undertone because it compliments the blush perfectly.

Like all the other products in the kit, the lipstick formula is the same as all the other Mac amplified lipsticks. It’s pigmented, smooth, and creamy. Since it is the Amplified formula, it stays pretty glossy which means that it will move around if/ when you eat or drink.  Lastly, the gloss is a typical Mac lipglass. I’m not a huge fan of glosses and the lipglass formula is on the thick, goopy side for my taste. So, needless to say, I don’t like the formula of the gloss but that’s my personal preference. The shade is beautiful and I’ll probably add a small amount to the center of my lips every so often.

Here is one of the looks I created with this kit:

Overall, I highly recommend giving this collection a try! All the products have that classic Mac quality and the price is a steal for the amount for product you’re getting!

Have you had the chance to try out this collection? Are you excited for the summer collection? I know I am! I will be ordering the summer collection soon so keep an eye out for that review!

Until next time,
