Hello everyone!
I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving and saved a ton this Black Friday. In order to celebrate the holidays and spend time with my family, I postponed this blog post a few days.
This week I’m sharing my all-time favorite dry shampoos and they each serve a different purpose in my routine.
The first, which is my number 1 favorite dry shampoo of all time, is the IGK Jet Lag Dry Shampoo.
It retails for $29 for a 6.3oz can and $14 for the 1.25oz can. According to the Sephora website:
You want your hair to stand out, not your styling products, and this truly invisible, revolutionary formula blends into hair without leaving a trace of residue. Enriched with antioxidants, it cleanses, softens, and hydrates hair, providing a cooling sensation to the scalp and slight volume to the roots when applied. After applying, lightly massage scalp with fingers to maximize cleansing and soothing effects. Jet Lag Invisible Dry Shampoo contains the IGK Los Angeles scent—a refreshingly bright arrangement of bergamot, lemon zest, mimosa, heliotrope, and black amber.
This product is vegan, cruelty-free, and formulate without gluten, artificial colors, triethanolamine, mineral oils, harsh detergents, methylisothiazolinone/methylchloroisothiazolinone, and petrochemicals.
My sister bought the mini size after a Sephora employee demonstrated this product. It is truly invisible and she demonstrated this by spraying it liberally all over her black uniform. I was sold the moment I saw that it was actually invisible because I have dark brown, almost black hair. I love an invisible dry shampoo to use in the morning so I don’t have to worry about white residue. The fact that it is invisible is why this dry shampoo comes out on top. As a dry shampoo, it does a fantastic job of getting rid of oil in my hair and the scent is not too strong.
The next dry shampoo on my list in the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo.
It retails for $22 for a 4oz can and $12 for a 1.8oz can. According to the Living Proof website:
A dry shampoo that cleans beyond ordinary dry shampoos. It’s powered by our patented Healthy Hair Molecule (OFPMA) and Triple-Action Cleaning Technology that:
- absorbs and removes oil, sweat and odor
- makes your hair look, feel and smell clean
- works on all hair colors because it leaves virtually no visible residue or powdery build-up behind
- has a time-released fragrance to deliver a light, clean scent throughout the day
I purchased this dry shampoo when I heard it was the first dry shampoo that actually cleans your hair. I love using this dry shampoo at night before I go to bed. Since it isn’t invisible, putting it on before going to bed gives all the white residue a chance to work through while I’m sleeping.
Finally, the most affordable option, is the Batiste Clean & Light Bare Dry Shampoo.
It retails for $5.99 for a 6.73oz can and can be found at most drugstores. According to the Batiste website:
New Batiste Bare Dry Shampoo has the same award winning formulation that you’ve come to expect from the #1 dry shampoo brand, but with a barely there fragrance which won’t hang around all day or try and compete with your perfume.
A quick spritz will instantly refresh your hair, leaving it full of body & texture and smelling naturally fresh and clean.
I bought this dry shampoo in a desperate time of need while traveling. I didn’t want to spend too much since I had more expensive ones at home. I decided to go for the Bare scent because I hate when hair products have a strong, lasting scent. Now, this dry shampoo isn’t invisible either but I couldn’t find one when I went to Target. Similar to the Living Proof dry shampoo, it absorbs all oils without a super strong scent and it’s another one I use at night before bed.
What is your favorite dry shampoo? Have you found any invisible ones at the drugstore?
Until next time,

I was originally going to try the one from tarte but a sephora employee recommended the IGK one and I now live by that one. For affordable I would agree that Batiste does a fairly good job.
