Hello everyone!
This week I’m comparing the Kylie Cosmetics Kyshadow Purple Palette and the Wet N Wild Petal Pusher Palette. After I ordered my Kyshadow Palette, I was in CVS and saw the Wet N Wild palette. I thought, Omg! Some of those shades look really similar to the Kylie Purple Palette!”
To be clear, I’ll only be comparing some of the shade I thought looked similar to test whether or not they are dupes. I can do a full review of these palettes if you are curious, let me know! 😊 The Wet N Wild palette is an all shimmer palette, meaning none of the shades are matte. The Kylie palette, on the other hand, has a few matte shades in addition to the shimmery shades so there is no way the would ever be exactly the same.
The Kyshadow Purple Palette includes 9 shades of various texture and a large mirror. It retails for $42.00 USD.
The Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Collection Palette in Petal Pusher includes 8 shimmery shadows and retails for $4.99 USD.
Let’s jump into the swatches! The 4 shade comparisons below are the ones that I thought looked the most similar in the pans. The photo on the left was taken in indirect lighting/ in the shade and the photo on the right was taken in direct sunlight. Additionally, for each of the shades, the Wet N Wild swatches are on the left and the Kyshadow swatches are on the right.
The 4 Kyshadow shades I swatched were Periwinkle (satin icy pink), Amethyst (metallic purple), Purple Smoke (satin purple slate), and Blueberry (matte cool gray). So obviously the shades looked much more similar in the pan than in the swatches. The shimmery highlight shades and the deep blue/ gray shades are pretty similar but the two shades in the middle are completely different shades and tones of purple.
Unfortunately, I didn’t find any exact dupes this time around but I really enjoyed testing and comparing these palettes.
Have you tried either of these palettes? What did you think of them?
Until next time,
