Hello everyone!
This week we’ll be talking about the new Morphe collaboration palette with Jaclyn Hill. With a restock coming this month, I thought it’d be the perfect time to review it.
First, I need to apologize for the lighting in the pictures. I thought I had figured out a good place to take pictures. I found a great place to take pictures but it was too early in the morning so they turned out darker than I’d prefer. With that out of the way, let’s jump into the review!
I purchased my palette during the first release of the palette so I’ve had some time to play around with it and it is amazing! But before I get into some more pictures and my final thoughts, here’s how the palette is described on the Morphe website:
This is not your average eye palette. That’d be boring. We (and most importantly, Jaclyn Hill) don’t do boring. This palette is a 2-year love affair. 35 brand-new, OMG eyeshadows that Jaclyn whipped up, formulated, tested, re-tested, and perfected. They were created to deliver not only the best color payoff but also amazing application. Mattes, shimmers, satins, foils, and glitter: all pressed to perfection…just the way Jaclyn wanted. Her dreamy colors are now your reality. So whether you’re pressed for time or have time to play, this palette is your new bestie. Because a girl (and guy) needs to have options.
In my opinion, this description doesn’t truly describe how amazing the palette really is! When I swatched the shadows on my arm, I didn’t use a primer and they came out extremely pigmented! However, I did have a bit of trouble getting the swatches off my arm. They are so pigmented that some of the darker shadows left behind stain no matter how hard I scrubbed with a makeup remover wipe! Here’s how my swatches turned out:
The palette comes with a card inside the box with it. This card shows the names of each shadow shade. I wish they were printed on the palette itself because it’s just an extra thing I have to keep track of in my makeup collection and without it, there’s no way of knowing what the shades are called. I did notice that the Morphe website has a downloadable version of the card but it’s still annoying that it’s separate from the palette. That’s honestly the only negative thing I have to say about this palette.
Even though I had some trouble getting some of the shadows off my arm, I didn’t have any trouble getting them off my eyes. I believe the shadow primer I used and the layering of the shadows helped prevent any staining. The following pictures are a couple looks I created. These looks are my first attempts at creating a halo shadow look.
I was highly impressed by the performance of the shadows! They blend out effortlessly, are super pigmented, buttery, and have amazing color payoff. I just love how it includes a color for just about any situation! I typically am drawn more towards warm colors since I have a warmer skin tone but I can’t wait to create a look that includes some of the cooler shades too.
If you couldn’t already tell from my glowing review, I highly recommend this palette. I’m truly loving the pigmentation, blendability, and shade selection!
P.S. Keep an eye out on Jaclyn’s and Morphe’s socials for updates on the next restock!
Were you able to get your hands on this palette? What do you think about it?
Until next time,
