Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara Review

Hello everyone!

This week I’m reviewing the Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara. I received a full-size tube of this product from Influenster complimentary for testing. It also came with a trial size of the BI-FACIL Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover and CILS BOOSTER XL Super-Enhancing Mascara Base. This is how everything was packaged and sent to me:

This mascara currently comes in one shade, 01 Big is the New Black and is advertised on the Lancôme website as

A BIG volume mascara that delivers instant heart-stopping volume with up to 24 hour wear that lasts all night, and even the morning after, for your biggest, blackest, boldest lashes yet. You’ll know Monsieur Big Mascara is the one at first stroke. The BIG brush and ultra-creamy formula glides like silk onto lashes to deliver up to 12x more volume (than bare lashes alone) with up to 24 hour wear. No touch-ups, flaking and smudging. Perfect for your BIG evening out AND even the morning after.

Monsieur Big’s brush has a unique shape with soft, wavy fibers to deliver the perfect amount of formula with the very first stroke. His ultra-creamy formula has supple waxes and polymers to adhere immediately to lashes for BIG, buildable volume and length. Apply one coat and you will see why Monsieur Big is the one. Keep applying and you’ll forget all the others.

Before I get into my thoughts on the mascara, I also want to quickly include my thoughts on the other two products that came in the box. The BI-FACIL Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover is one of my favorite makeup removers! If it wasn’t so expensive I would use this more regularly. It works effortlessly to remove all eye makeup, even waterproof mascara! I also like that it doesn’t leave a strange film behind and just leaves my skin clean and soft. As for the CILS BOOSTER XL Super-Enhancing Mascara Base, it worked amazingly to boost the volume and performance of my mascara. The only thing I don’t really like about it is that, like most mascara primers, it’s white. I find this annoying because it’s an extra step I have to take to make sure all the white is covered.

It’s been a while since my last mascara review. Over the past few months, I had lash extensions and I wasn’t supposed to put mascara on them. I just got them removed (the upkeep was getting a little too expensive) so I’m able to start wearing and reviewing mascara again. Since it’s been so long, here is what my natural lashes look like without any product:

And this is what two coats looks like on my lashes (without primer):

I love the wand because it has bristles, which I prefer because I feel I can build up volume better than other types of wands. It does have a pretty standard shape but in combination with the formula, it creates so much volume!

The formula is the perfect texture, not too wet and not too dry. It’s also very black and gives a wonderful, bold look! It added the perfect amount of volume in my opinion. Plus, my lashes weren’t clumpy or spidery at all! And, as a contact wearer, I had no problem with eye irritation.

Finally, I love how this mascara performs! Since my lashes are pretty long naturally, I typically look for mascaras that provide volume. Everything about this mascara helped make my lashes look amazing! I wore it on my top and bottom lashes for about 10 hours on the days I tested it out and didn’t notice any flaking or smudging even though I tend to rub my eyes throughout the day. I also love how it wore on my bottom lashes! This is great because I usually rely on bottom lash mascaras and being able to just use/ travel with one mascara saves time and space.

Overall, I would highly recommend this mascara to anyone and everyone and it has definitely made it into my rotation of mascaras.

Have you tried this mascara yet? If so, what did you think?

Until next time,
